Bring back your confidence with IPL by Nodlys By Candela

When your skin care professional suggests IPL treatments, do you wonder what they are? IPL stands for intense pulsed light. Light therapy treats wrinkles, unwanted hair, sunspots, and age spots. It is a bit like laser treatment; however, lasers focus just one wavelength of light on your problems, and IPL releases light of many different wavelengths. Think of it like a photo flash.
IPL light is not as focused as a laser, but IPL penetrates down to the second layer of your skin or the dermis without harming the top layer or the epidermis. IPL causes less damage to your skin, so there is less downtime than laser treatments.
Nordlys IPL
Nordlys IPL is a non-invasive and non-ablative foundation technology that combines infrared and fractional laser. It delivers a millisecond pulse to treat small and large areas and gives you remarkable skin rejuvenation and vascular treatments. IPL by Nordlys is FDA-cleared and went through twenty years of research. The Nordlys machine has been developed to eliminate potentially harmful wavelengths and allow only beneficial wavelengths to contact the skin.
The benefits of Nordlys include:
Removing vascular veins. Vascular lesions are collections of small, dense blood vessels below the skin. They appear anywhere on the body and are not usually painful. Using Nordlys, smaller vessels disappear immediately, and larger ones gradually fade over the next several weeks.
Treating rosacea. Rosacea is an autoimmune skin disorder that includes skin flare-ups that cause the facial to look flushing, irritated, and covered with pus-filled bumps. Rosacea is caused by dilated and broken blood vessels beneath the skin.
Reducing age spots, brown spots, and sunspots. The small flat dark areas on the skin are the spots you see. They vary in size and appear on areas exposed to the sun, like the hands, shoulders, face, and arms. Age spots are common in adults older than 50, but younger people get these spots if they spend time in the sun.
Providing a more even complexion and eliminating hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is a common cause of uneven skin tone and texture, and these are due to excess melanin production in the skin. You can also experience hyperpigmentation due to hereditary skin conditions, lifestyle choices, acne and scarring, and hormonal changes.
The skin acne & acne scarring. Acne is the bane of adolescents, young adults, and even adults. It is a condition resulting from clogged hair follicles under the skin. It is usually small to large red bumps on the skin that can be painful and pus-filled. Acne is very common, and there are more than 3 million cases annually in the US.
When you are treated with Nordlys IPL, a specific treatment package is developed for your skin concerns. Wavelengths will be customized to your skin, issues, the treatment area, and the size being treated. An applicator will be selected, and a thin layer of gel will be used to maximize the results of IPL treatments. You may experience a warm sensation during the treatment, but there will be little to no pain.
Recovery from treatment generally occurs within 3-5 days. You can see brighter, healthier-looking skin. There may be some redness on your skin, but that fades in several hours. Using repeated sessions, you can expect more even skin tone, reduced blemishes, and a smoother texture. You will have more youthful-looking skin.
Do note that results may vary from one patient to another.
How does IPL Work?
The pigment cells in your skin absorb light energy, and this energy is converted into heat. The heat destroys unwanted pigment to clear up spots and even freckles.
Using a handheld device, your skincare professional targets multiple wavelengths of light into your skin. The light heats cells and breaks them down. Your body then removes the damaged cells naturally. IPL can safely be used to treat:
Acne scars
Birthmarks
Injury scars
Spider veins
Rosacea
Hyperpigmentation
Age spots and freckles
Melasma
Stretch marks
Sun damaged skin
Wrinkles
Tattoo removal
IPL is safe for everyone, but if you are pregnant or on blood thinners, avoid IPL. Also, do not use IPL if you take acne drugs like Accutane, have active acne susceptible to keloid scarring, or have a recent sunburn.
IPL can cause skin discoloration, swelling, bleeding, and scarring. It is somewhat painful, but the effectiveness of IPL can be amazing. It works on white or light brown skin better than on darker skin, and the type of IPL device your skincare professional uses during the procedure affects the outcome.
You may need multiple rounds of IPL treatment before you notice results.
